I’m a little late in publishing about my experience at Oktoberfest in wonderful Cape May and the Fall Block Party in beautiful downtown Ocean City. I can’t begin to tell you how exciting this was for me. I met so many wonderful people both customers and those walking by and I’ve never felt more at home.
As you can imagine, a lot of work goes into the preparation for these events. Things like ordering books, making sure you have enough swag, enough business cards, enough books, and oftentimes, adding the finishing touches to new releases you’ve saved just for the occasion!
For me, it was Once Upon a Christmas. The first in a series of Christmas stories featuring Cape May. Release day, also known as Happy Book Birth Day, is always fun. The excitement that surrounds those who’ve been waiting for it and me who can’t wait to share it with you and hope you love it as much as I loved writing it.
Once Upon a Christmas is a story about Mallory Gardner, a widow who’s struggling to keep her Christmas shop afloat and deal with a teenage daughter who blames her for her father’s death! And, as if that isn’t bad enough, in walks a former boyfriend, AJ Miller, whom she hasn’t seen in eighteen years and who now regrets letting her go!
The weather was perfect, the streets were filled with people and the excitement the event generated made me thankful I’d participated because now I have more new friends. I am so looking forward to seeing you again. Check back often for my events calendar.
And the best part is the organizer of Oktoberfest is planning some readings and fun things with authors for all of you, and my new friends at the Sunrose Books and Music have invited me back in the spring . . . after June when I’ll have two new books for you. The Vow, the 4th book in the Kensington-Gerard Detectives series and the second in my Cape May Cozy Mystery series titled Abra Cadaver.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my website and if you haven’t already joined my newsletter, join in the fun. I have contests, give prizes and we have a great time.
